This describes what Caption Bounty collects and how we use it.

What we collect

• Account info: phone number and the display name/handle you choose.
• Content you create: photos, captions, and votes.
• Payment & payout info: processed by Stripe. We don’t store full card or bank details; Stripe collects identity/tax information needed for payouts.
• Usage data: basic logs needed to run and secure the service.

How we use it

• To operate contests, verify identity, prevent fraud and vote manipulation, and pay winners.
• To communicate about your account and bounties.

Sharing

We share data with service providers that help us operate (e.g., Stripe for payments, an SMS provider for verification). We don’t sell your personal information.

Cookies & sessions

We use a signed session cookie to keep you logged in. No third-party advertising cookies.

Retention, security & your rights

• We keep data as long as needed to run the service and meet legal/tax obligations (typically 7 years for financial records).
• You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing us. We will respond within 30 days. Deletion may be limited where records are required by law (e.g., tax records tied to payouts).
• The service is for adults (18+) only. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
• We use industry-standard security measures; no system is perfectly secure, and we are not responsible for unauthorized access beyond our control.
