How it works

Caption Bounty is a marketplace for real human creativity. Someone posts a photo and a prize; real people compete to write the best caption; the crowd shortlists the finalists and the poster crowns the winner. No AI captions — that’s the whole point.

If you’re posting a bounty

• Upload a photo and write an optional prompt.
• Set a prize: free (“for glory”) or a cash bounty from $10 to $500. A 15% platform fee is added to paid bounties.
• For cash bounties, your payment is held safely up front so entrants know the prize is real.
• When voting ends, you pick the winner from the top 3 — your call, on merit.

If you’re writing captions

• It’s always free to enter — you never pay to submit a caption.
• One original, human-made caption per bounty.
• Vote for your favorite. Votes are sealed until voting closes, so nobody piles on a leader.
• Win and you get paid securely through Stripe (it handles identity checks and tax forms).

Why “skill, not chance” matters

Winners are chosen on the merit of their caption— shortlisted by community vote and selected by the poster — never by random draw. Entering is free. That’s what makes Caption Bounty a creative contest, not a game of chance.
